Word podcast 270 – David Hepworth on “Uncommon People: The Rise And Fall Of The Rock Stars”

David Hepworth talks about his best-selling book “Uncommon People” which traces the history of the cult of the rock star from Little Richard to Kurt Cobain.

  1. Really enjoyed it! (possibly could´ve lived without the chapter on Madge… 😉 ). Just a thought … how come no one has written a book on TOGWT? … there must be loads of great stories around the show. (I´ve also wondered why no one has written anything on the influence of the English Art colleges on 60´s and 70´s music as there´s quite a lot of fertile ground there I should imagine).

Anyway, thanks again, really enjoyed it. Have you interviewed Darian Lynskey? … his “33 Revolutions” is excellent.
